TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Martin Transport International, Inc. is a Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carrier, specializing in the export and imports of goods via ocean.

We have an NVOCC License, which is recognized by the Federal Maritime Commission (Copy available upon request). All terms and conditions on the back of Martin Transport International bill of lading apply to every shipment that Martin Transport International handles.

INSURANCE

For a vehicle is a 2% for full coverage or 1% for total loss. Customer will advice value of vehicle, there is a minimum fee per certificate of 125.00 USD. In case of a claim there is a 500.00 USD deductible that has to be met in order for the claim to be Process.

PACKING

All cargo must be packed properly for export to be eligible for the above-described insurance. If you are shipping used household goods or personal effects, the above-described insurance will only cover loss unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by Martin Transport International, Inc.

(U.S.A.) STORAGE

Unless otherwise agreed in writing by Martin Transport International, Inc., storage charges will incur after 2 weeks or 10 business days from the time the goods were delivered. Storage charges are rated as such: $0.25/Cubic foot, minimum of $10.00/Day. In case of a vehicle there is a 5.00 USD per day after 2 weeks of arrival.

TRANSIT TIME

We make every effort to have the shipment arrive at its destination on time. However, we do not guarantee a specific transit time.

DOCUMENTATION

Documentation must be completed and sent to Martin Transport International, Inc., no later than one day after shipment is tendered. Specific instructions will be given in advance and in writing as to what documentation is required for shipping purposes.
Failure to complete the documentation required by Martin Transport International, Inc., in writing, will result in a delay of your shipment and storage charges may incur.

AES FILING

If cargo value is greater than $2,500, by law we are required to file your information with US Customs. As a result, a $50.00 charge will be added to your invoice.

DESTINATION CHARGES

All international shipments are subject to destination duty, tax, VAT, terminal fees and or other fees, which are to the account of the consignee unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Martin Transport International.

CUSTOMS CLEARANCE

It is the responsibility of the consignee to clear customs at destination unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Martin Transport International.

SHIPPERS RESPONSIBILITY

It is the responsibility of the shipper to know and understand the laws governing the export/import of freight.

US CUSTOMS

US Customs can hold, search and confiscate your cargo with or without warning. Any charges that incur as a result are to be paid by the shipper. If shipper refuses to pay, his/her shipment will be placed on hold until charges are paid in full.

PAYMENT

Payment must be made three days prior to the shipments sailing date. If not paid on time, and in full, your shipment will be held and storage charges may incur.

Martin Transports International accepts the following methods of payment: Money order, cashiers check, company check, certified check, and wire transfers.
